Birch Wiccan wood wand with amethyst point and runes - W3
his is the third of my new line of Birch Wands. This is a bit simpler than my first wand with runes, as it only has two runes on it. The tip also just has the amethyst point set in with glue, and no wrapping.
Birch wood wands have been used for getting in touch with the Goddess, and for cleansing and banishing. I got into a lot of detail about this on my blog, and You can read about it here.
Birch is also used for healing, and was a staple for Native Americans. So I decided to craft this wand and give it elements that would aid someone working on either healing, banishing, cleansing, or honoring the Goddess rituals.
The rune were set going from the grip to the tip in a specific order, and for the following reasons:
- BEORC - The rune of the Great Mother. After drawing a circle, you normally honor the Goddess (and also the God).So the 2nd rune up the rune for the Goddess.
- EIHAWZ - Very powerful rune of banishing and protection. It also increases power, and helps to remove any obstacles.
Running from the grip to the top is a spiral that was cut into the birch bark. This also helps to spiral the energy from the caster up to the point. Finally, an Amethyst point is set on the end and hot glued.
The construction of the wand, the runes, and the Amethyst point make this wand a powerful aid to any Wiccan and their magickal workings. It is aprox. 12" long, making this a short wand. It also comes with a plain undyed muslin bag that is open at one end, and tied with a simple hemp cord.
While making this wand, I concentrated magickal energy on it througout the process. As I burned each rune, I concentrated on that Rune, and flowing the energy it represents into the wand. It was then blessed with salted water, and passed through ritual incense to concrate it using the four elements.
Blessed Be,
